Getting back in Gear
August has been a month of gearing up for this school year. Going to football practice, going to games, meeting with teens, keeping in touch on Facebook, meeting with volunteers, getting to lunch at school are all an integral part of youth ministry. We had our first Campus Life organizational meeting on Sept. 2. Here is a glimpse of a couple of teens and volunteers having a blast!
Fall Festival Parade
In order get the word out about Campus Life this year, our daughter Abby and her horse TJ, (with signs attached) rode in the parade with a couple of teen helpers and dad passing out flyers to teens and parents along the way. Our other daughter, Katy, rode behind a lawn mower pulled by one of the Bushnell teens tossing candy to the waiting spectators. In addition, I was able to speak on the radio about Youth for Christ and our upcoming events for this year.
Going deep at Depth Charge
I love going deep with teens. They are alive with thoughts, struggles, and questions, trying to find their identity in life. It is up to us to point them toward Christ. That happened a couple of weeks ago with a couple of young men I have been building into this summer. Evan (not his real name) is struggling with doubting God. His friend is struggling with not being loved by his father. Pray for these two young men as they venture through life this year.
Faithful Giving
I don’t say this often enough. Thank you so much for giving faithfully toward the ministry of Youth for Christ in Bushnell. Thank you for giving toward our financial support. We could not be here doing the things we do with teens without you! May the Lord bless you as you seek Him and fulfill His Kingdom work this coming year.
